West Point, MS, July 5, 2022 – Southern Ionics Incorporated today announced Joe Stevens has been named President and Chief Operating Officer, effective July 2, 2022.
Stevens has more than 35 years of experience in the chemical manufacturing industry with a broad range of experience in all aspects of operations, purchasing, product development and business development. In addition to more than 22 years with Southern Ionics, serving as Chemist, Plant Manager, Manufacturing Manager, Director of Research and Development, and Vice President, he was instrumental in establishing medical device companies Renal Solutions and A-Lung Technologies and served on their boards of directors. Stevens was a founding partner of NextChem, LLC and worked at Harcros Chemicals, a chemical distribution and manufacturing company.
Stevens is a co-inventor and inventor of multiple US and international patents.

Sundbeck, Jr. Sundbeck, who founded the company in 1980 and will remain Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.
